Lawrence University, an undergraduate liberal arts college, seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in biology to begin September 1, 2013. We seek an energetic biologist with expertise in the area of microbiology or cell biology. The successful applicant will be expected to teach laboratory courses in introductory biology, microbiology, and cell biology and contribute to our Freshman Studies program on a rotating basis. Competitive candidates will have the ability to contribute to our Marine Biology term. Lawrence faculty members are expected to demonstrate both excellence in teaching and an active program of scholarship; establishment of a research program appropriate for undergraduate participation is required. Lawrence will provide a competitive start-up package and offers generous research space as well as cutting-edge equipment, including a Leica SP5 confocal microscope. Significant expertise in modern microscopy is preferred. Application deadline is October 1.
